This week we’ve still got plenty of fun outdoor events: night markets in Griffith Park, wine and a movie at Malibu Wines and some Hollywood Bowl beats with Flying Lotus and friends. There’s a 3-day Green Festival with Moby in attendance and Union Station will transform into a late night classical music party. Go the whole hog and get punkabilly in your hot rod by the harbor or scare yourself shitless in an interactive horror movie. But no matter what your weekend holds, yes, National Cheeseburger Day will heal anything come Sunday.

We’re always looking for an excuse to get into the canyon for a Malibu Wines weekend. But why not start on a Thursday? The Movie Night Under the Stars series has yet another classic in store this week with Some Like it Hot. That’s the epic comedy stylings of Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn all in one film. You won’t even need wine to get the giggles here. But you should totally get into the wine. Because, wine. Food will also be available for purchase.

Not Your Average Classical Concert
If you stumble into Union Station late on Friday night and witness a 40-piece chamber orchestra going nuts without a conductor, it’s not the tequila talking. Kaleidoscope, an LA-based conductor-less orchestra, is delivering a free concert at 10 p.m. in the gorgeous art deco bowels of the station. Then, KUSC’s Brian Lauritzen will host an after party where you can rock out until 1 a.m. with DJ and full bar.

Griffith Park continues to deliver as not only an easily accessible nature boost but as a venue for some rather cool events. Now that Shakespeare in the Park is over, you’ve still got entertainment under the stars available here at The Autry with food trucks, markets, bands and bars for two more Fridays — this week and the third week of October. Unlike Friday nights everywhere else, there’s tons of parking. In the words of ODD Market, “You could even ride your horse in.”

Creep LA
If you’ve been taken with the current scene of escape rooms, this is for you. On steroids. CreepLA invites you to experience the story of a tormented 1970s artist trapped in his own dark world. You’ll sip cocktails and listen to his story, then make your way through a frightfully intimate 8,000 square feet of space where, in the words of CreepLA “you may end up standing, crawling or running.” The multi-sensory show lasts 45 minutes and though they provide alcohol, they do not provide clean underwear. Friday night is already sold out, but the experience will thankfully run through October.
Deets: Slots available from 7 - 11 p.m.;
Imperial Art Studios; Tickets are $40; More info

This time, they’re celebrating National Cheeseburger Day and have chef Jamie Lauren and her Hank & Frida’s Burger Time pop-up leading the way. There will also be burger specials from the usual drool-worthy suspects and don’t forget you can food-coma it up in the beer garden.

Celebrate Roald Dahl’s Centennial with Lobster Rolls
The gals over at Knuckle & Claw West are kicking off nationwide celebrations this weekend to honor the late, great children’s author, Roald Dahl, and this one’s close to home for co-owner Chloe Dahl. She’s the zany-minded author’s granddaughter! The Wondercrump Weekend will be packed with activities and treats, including a special grilled cheese — Mrs. Twits Knuckle Roll, a grilled cheese fittingly packed with worms (well, spaghetti worms). Chloe’s mom will also be on hand to read some of her dad’s most incredulous stories. Giant peaches not included.
