Yup, just another weekend in Los Angeles. This weekend has so much going for it that you’ll have to get really choosy. And by that we mean: beer and buxom wenches or Jack Daniels and pancakes? Rub shoulders with TV stars or secret underground techno party? Frida Kahlo look-alike competition or live Brit electro beats? Chiles, oysters or pulled pork? Breathe, it’s going to be OK! Whichever path you choose, you can cool down by perusing antiques in Pasadena come Sunday. It’s that rare time of the month when the Rose Bowl Flea Market graces us with her presence ... and so much more.

Who knew that Hatch chiles were available for such a short time each year? Typically, the only time you’re able to purchase fresh, authentic Hatch chile peppers is one lone month ending ... now. Typically all the roasting action goes down in the Lone Star State or south of the border, but you’re in luck — Pasadena is roasting the delicious little green suckers this entire weekend! With on-site roasting and a special menu, you can get your fill on-site or take home fresh or roasted packages for later.
