Sheena Yaitanes, founder of cosmetics brand
Kosas, juggles more than lipstick, meetings and all things beauty on a regular basis. As a mother of two living in LA, she's also balancing family, personal time and traffic.
"On a typical day, I might spend the morning with my daughter, take her to school, work on product development and anything else that needs tending to regarding the business, practice yoga and grab a smoothie with a friend. Evenings are generally family time. We eat dinner together and talk about the day,” says Sheena.
The queen of hustle says one of her favorite parts of her job is naming the shades of lipstick based on their personalities, like Stardust, Undone, and Royal—just a few of our personal favorites. Be on the lookout for the release of her newest collection, coming soon to her website!
In the meantime, we caught up with Sheena to get the scoop on where she shops to maintain that flawless look. Peep the guide below to treat yo’ self.
Beverly Grove; Brentwood, $$
Sheena Yaitanes: I've lived and breathed beauty for as long as I can remember. My approach has always been a little casual and lived-in, and I noticed that so many of my friends and style icons shared the same approach, yet there didn't seem to be a brand that embodied that philosophy. I wanted to create a place where women could not only buy makeup but also feel understood. I envisioned a brand with really wonderful choices, edited so that it would be intuitive to navigate and not at all intimidating. Every product would work just like it was supposed to and the colors would be truly flattering. You can find us at VIOLET GREY and at the new Goop Pop-Up at the Brentwood Country Mart.
