Who: Yogi and co-founder of Y7 Studio, Sarah Levey combines the zen world of yoga with hip-hop's greatest beats. "I love listening and moving to hip-hop. At Y7 we use the beat of the music to drive and control the pace of the breath," says the Michigan native. Sarah exercises five to six days a week, but not always at Y7—the original hip-hop yoga studio scattered across both New York and Los Angeles. When she's not dripping sweat to boppy beats at the studio, sipping cocktails on the rooftop at The William Vale or trekking to Bear Mountain to escape the city, here's where she likes to sweat that sh*t out in NYC:

Sarah Levey: Because you want to hang out with me! Y7 started as a pop-up just for fun—all of the classes were free but at the end of the weekend, someone asked to buy a package. We quickly found a small 300 sq foot space near our apartment and started running classes. That was in September 2013 and we grew super quickly from there. Now we have five studios in New York with a 6th in construction and 1 in LA with a second in construction.
