Adam Weisblatt of Last Word Hospitality group can count Silver Lake Thai wine bar Same Same and the up-market DTLA sports bar Brack Shop Tavern among his latest success stories. Same Same, a unique hybrid of strip mall gem, neighborhood Thai fallback, and extensive wine bar fits perfectly into its Silver Lake surroundings, the stomping ground of LA's indiest players. “In Silver Lake, you see the same people at the same cafes every day and everybody always says hi. At the same time, you have exciting chefs opening new restaurants and new bars are constantly popping up.”
So how does one keep up? Here are Adam’s top Silver Lake picks.

Same Same Thai
Adam Weisblatt: Walking into Same Same feels like walking into family. We have an incredibly close team, so every time you come in, whether you’re a staff member or customer, you feel like you’re coming in for family dinner. And the food and wine is just incredible. A cold Singha is the perfect beverage.
Taco Zone Truck
AW: This taco truck can be found in the parking lot of the Silver Lake Von’s. They make the best mulitas in the city, hands down.
Red Lion Tavern
AW:I like anything historic and that’s what the Red Lion Tavern is. Anyone whose great grandkids are going to college via bratwurst has my utmost respect. Where else can you get a properly poured German beer by a woman dressed in proper German clothing in a properly designed beer garden?
Cha Cha Lounge
AW:Across the street from the Red Lion Tavern is the Cha Cha Lounge. They have great specials on tequila and Mexican beer and I’m always down for a game or two of foosball.
Pine & Crane
AW:Pine & Crane has excellent, traditional Taiwanese food served in a very welcoming space. I really respect what they’ve going on there and they have a super friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food is fantastic and they have a phenomenal tea selection.
Tacos Delta
AW:They make the best, most perfect camarones. I haven’t tried anything else there, but these tacos are perfect and it’s all you need to know.
Daw Yee Myanmar Corner
AW:Same Same’s next door neighbor is fantastic. The owner is the sweetest guy who truly cares about customers enjoying the food he grew up on, which is traditional Burmese food. I love all the different platha, breads, and killer dipping sauces. It’s all super flavorful food.
The Satellite
AW: It’s a super cool, small music venue. No frills. Nirvana played there back in the day and Lady Gaga just played there. It’s a great mixture of big time artists with local acts.
Cafe Stella
AW: I love the bar in the back of Café Stella. Not Bar Stella, but the bar in the back of the café. It’s super intimate and I love ordering their killer steak frites and a bottle of red wine.
